Brain Awareness Teacher Workshop 2010
On February 20, 2010, educators from southwest Oregon attended the Brain Awareness Workshop broadcast from OHSU to one of two remote sites in the region: Southern Oregon University and the South Coast Educational Services District (ESD).
Teachers listened to a presentation given by Dr. Joel Nigg highlighting his research findings regarding the underlying mechanisms and causes in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across the lifespan. Dr. Nigg also provided some strategies for working with students with ADHD in the classroom.
AHEC-SW would like to thank our hosts, the SOU School of Education and the South Coast ESD, for helping us to make this event more accessible for teachers in southern Oregon.
