              Join OHSU’s SNMA chapter as we explore Oregon’s history of struggles related to race and equity. Dr. Alisha Moreland-Capuia is the Executive Director at OHSU Avel Gordly Center for Healing and a licensed, double board certified psychiatrist. She is certified in general adult psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. Dr. AMC will speak on “Oregon’s Racist Roots”. Additionally, Dr. AMC is an acclaimed leader and speaker and is frequently tapped to advise on matters of education, medicine, public health, and policy.

              HERO:  Helping EMS in Rural Oregon

               

              Rural Oregon EMS Agency Training Grants

              This year the Office of Rural Health is offering one grant award cycle for rural Oregon EMS agencies to help fund local trainings. If you represent a rural EMS agency that would like to conduct an in-house training for your staff, and hopefully invite other EMS personnel from surrounding communities, this grant is for you! These funds may also be used to send staff to training for their initial EMT, Advanced EMT or EMT-Intermediate certification if it is not possible to bring that training to your local area.

              Please note that you must be located in a rural area and recognized by the Oregon Health Authority EMS & Trauma Systems Program as an organization that participates in Oregon’s 9-1-1 response system. You may request funding for any training class or exercise you plan to complete within the next 12 months.

              The Cycle 8 application is is below. Applications for this grant cycle will be accepted through 5:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2018. Notification of awards will be the week of April 27, 2018.
