Eleven students, along with one counselor and two staff members from around the AHEC-SW region attended MedStars 2007 from July 11-14, 2007. Those chosen to attend this year were:

Students were given a full scholarship by AHEC to attend this event.
MedStars was an intensive four-day event held at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Students was given the chance to have hands-on experience of health careers throughout the event visiting the Oregon Simulation Laboratory, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Engineering, the Cadaver lab and Oregon Primate Research Center.
Activities for the students included an icebreaker session, egg activity, BodyWorlds 3, a parasite lecture, surgery skills, vital signs, musculoskeletal, the Oregon Donor Program presentation and discussion, art and music therapy and the final group presentations for family, staff and other students.
