Students participated in hands-on activities such as pig heart dissection, blood typing, and urinalysis with OIT faculty; clinical skills with medical and PA students on rotation at Sky Lakes Medical Center; and backboarding with an EMT. Students also received a tour of Sky Lakes Medical Center.

In addition, students attended presentations about Donate Life Northwest and EKG interpretation, learned about the nuclear medicine department at OIT, and experienced driving a golf cart with goggles that simulate one of the following eye diseases: macular degeneration, glaucoma, or cataracts. The final activity featured the students, who gave presentations to their families highlighting their favorite experiences of the week.

Camp M.D. was made possible by a grant from the Southern Oregon ESD Regional Vocational Partner Alliance. Additional support was provided by the Area Health Education Center of Southwest Oregon (AHEC-SW), and Cascades East Area Health Education Center (CEAHEC).
